When to invite a Session Musician
Use the Session Musicians area of an event when the band needs someone for that specific event. This is separate from inviting a regular band member to join the band roster.
Create the opening and invite musicians
An Owner or delegated Admin can use Find a Sub in an event to create an opening and invite one or more musicians. SetToGig can show musicians previously invited by that band for the relevant role, or the admin can add a new invitee.
Use the invitation details requested by the app and share a Copy Invite only with the intended musician.
Accept a Session Musician invitation
- Open the invitation in SetToGig.
- Sign in or create the verified account that matches the invitation.
- Review the event commitment.
- Choose Confirm I Can Play if you can take it, or Can’t Do It if you cannot.
A Session Musician receives access for the intended event participation; accepting does not make them a permanent member of the band.
When an invitation is unavailable
An invitation can be unavailable when it is no longer valid, has expired, has already been answered, or the position has been filled. SetToGig shows the current outcome when the invitation is opened.
Troubleshooting
Use the verified account that matches the invitation. If you already participate in the event in another way, SetToGig may not allow another session invitation to be accepted.
